| Golden Temple (early morning) |
The guest house where I am staying is immediately across the
street from “The Golden Temple.”
This is
a working Tibetan Buddhist monastery and home to many monks.
The temple is also very popular with Indian
tourists.
Hundreds of people visit the
temple:
they come on foot, on
motorcycles, in auto-rickshaws, cars, and buses.
The stream of people from 7 am to 7 pm is
non-stop.
Although the temple closes at
6 pm, it takes all of the tourists about an hour to clear out from the area.
