You might think that a Tibetan Buddhist monastery would be a quiet place. At times, it is very quiet, but at other times you can barely hear yourself think. Leaving class yesterday evening, drums were thumping, cymbals were crashing and horns were blaring from the main temple at Sherabling monastery.
Drums also can be heard in the early morning from another part of the monastery. An interesting alarm clock!
