Rocks and sand littered the concrete court and the rim of one basket was barely hanging on to the backboard, but the enthusiasm for the game of basketball could not be matched. At 7 am, the monks joined me on the basketball court located just outside the Sherabling Monastery.
We divided ourselves into two teams and the game was underway. We started with a 6-on-6 game to give more people a chance to play and decided that the first team to score three baskets would be the winner.
It took us a while to get to three, but the final score of the first game was 3-2. We were able to play two more games before it was time to get ready for the first class of the day.
